BRITISH-MADE BIG BAD WOLF GAG COMICS FROM 1958

Britain's Mickey Mouse Weekly comics magazine had ceased publication late in 1957 and was replaced by a new (and similar) magazine titled Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse. This new magazine, which lasted for about a year, ran a series of apparently British-made Big Bad Wolf gag comics. Above scan is from no. 8 (dated Feb. 22nd, 1958).

Years ago, when I worked at Egmont, I savored a bound volume containing a close-to-full run of this series. There was a nice, long stretch of these silly, rhyming Big Bad Wolf "adventures" (I use the term very loosely).

I still remember one that began with him laughing "What a clever wolf I am... I soon will have a meal of ham." So much for him being either excitingly ferocious or a likeable loser. I'd still love to see more of them here, though.
